King Coal / Coalfields Expressway Interchange

Contact Project Manager
  • Estimated Final price: $200 million
  • Location: McDowell / Wyoming Counties, West Virginia
  • Purpose: Intersection of two future four lane highways, the King Coal Highway and the Coalfields Expressway. Once the entirety of the roads are complete, a North-South Route and an East-West Route will be established through the Southern Coalfields of West Virginia.

Our project is the actual intersection of the King Coal Highway and the Coalfields Expressway.  One section has been constructed and two others have been designed and await Federal Construction Funds.  The project also included access for the highways to WV 16 at two locations, one in Wyoming County and one in McDowell County.  There is currently a forth portion of the project that is under design that will allow access to the McDowell County Industrial Park.
